Congratulations to Beth Moore, a Year 2 A-Level Drama student who achieved a Distinction in her Bronze Medal LAMDA Acting exam!
When asked about LAMDA, Beth said…
“LAMDA is a drama school that offers a series of qualifications for anyone to take part in. I only found about them recently because of coming to Long Road Sixth Form College. I just achieved a distinction in grade 6 in which I had to perform two monologues and then talk about them in context with the play they are from. I am now going on to do grade 7 and will have to do the same but with 3 monologues instead.
I chose to get involved with these qualifications in order to build up my skills and repertoire but also to have more things to include on my personal statement as I would like to go to a drama school and pursue acting when I leave college. I also find that exploring and learning these monologues provides me with plenty of possible material for auditions at drama schools. However, even if I didn’t want to go on to act, I feel that this would be a really great opportunity for anyone wanting to try something new or build their confidence.”
Congratulations Beth on your amazing achievement, we can’t wait to see what your next success will be!
