Exam Results 2019
We are so proud today of all our hard-working students and our dedicated teachers who collectively have achieved a wonderful set of results this year.
Whether in the arts or the sciences, our students have achieved exceptionally well. Biology sustained excellent performance with a 100% pass rate and 37 % high grades A*-B, putting their performance in the top 25% of the country.
A level 3D Design and Painting wowed with a stunning 75% high grades A*-B, as did English Language and Literature with 40% high grades A*-B. Across our rich curriculum, A level Art, Graphics, Textiles, Biology, History, Film, Further Maths, Photography, Religious Studies and Spanish have all achieved a very impressive 100% pass rate, to name a few.
We are pleased that we have continued to maintain our overall A level pass rate at 97% despite the very significant challenges of the reformed two year linear A levels.
Our Level 3 Applied Diploma students also achieved some outstanding successes with 100% pass rates across many courses too including Applied Science, with 93% of students achieving the highest Distinction star (D*) grade and Business with 85%. Our Criminology course continues to excel into its second year, with a 99% pass rate and 35% of students achieving the highest A*- B grades.
Other courses with excellent results were Art & Design, Health and Social Care, ICT, Graphics, Musical Theatre, Photography, Sport and Media; whose excellent performance placed them in the top 5% nationally.
