Photography students visited the East End of London to see the Free Range Exhibition at The Old Truman Brewery. This showcased some of Britain’s most innovative and compelling up-and-coming artists and was a fantastic opportunity to be inspired by the creative and contemporary work produced by this summer’s graduates. Our students were able to speak to the graduates and see work produced in universities from all over the UK to get an idea of what is on offer.
On the trip the Long Road Photography department also ran a ‘Street Photography’ workshop in and around Brick Lane. This was an opportunity for students to learn new ways of photographing and recording their responses to the vibrant environment. The students were encouraged to explore initial ideas for their Coursework Projects and will be sharing the results in an exhibition at Long Road Sixth Form College later in the year.
