Long Road Sixth Form College is delighted to announce that the next stage of our new facility development programme is now complete. The College was awarded nearly £1 million earlier in the year to expand and update teaching, IT and sports facilities both within the existing buildings and through new developments. This has also included new classroom space in the new building and the completion of our science laboratory renovation.
The all-weather pitch was used for its first game on Saturday 20th September when local team South Cambridgeshire Hockey Club played three inaugural matches. The pitch will mainly be used by the Long Road Hockey teams.
Our pine-clad modular classrooms opened for teaching today, 22nd September, with lessons taking place in Politics, Sociology and the post-A level Art Foundation course.
Heather Chambers, Vice Principal, says: “These new sporting and teaching facilities mean that we can offer a high quality experience to our students as the College continues to grow.”
