On Friday our Level 3 Extended Diploma Art and Design students enjoyed a visit to Charlotte Cornish. The trip was part of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art Year 2 ‘Contemporary Fine Art Practice’. We were kindly invited to visit practising artist Charlotte Cornish’s working studio. Charlotte gave an informative talk about her inspirations, working techniques, processes and commissions.
The students really enjoyed the opportunity to see a practising contemporary artists studio. Student Emily said “It was a very interesting experience to visit a local artist in their own studio and to see how their work and style has progressed over the last few years.” while student Jade commented “It was amazing to see how a real life artist works and how much work goes behind the process of creating and making a living as an artist.”
Ex Long Road art student Charlotte shared her experience, inspirations and showed us examples of her current paintings. Her prints will be on show at Cambridge Contemporary Art Gallery in Cambridge in April.
