Art & Design National Diploma (NDAD) students have just spent an extremely interesting and useful day in London to support their studies.
The day started with a specially-arranged lecture on Colour at the Courtauld. Lunch was in Covent Garden, which also gave students excellent opportunities to take photographs.
In the afternoon the students visited the National Gallery. This was followed by a visit to the National Portrait Gallery. Karen Little, NDAD Course Team Leader, says:
“At the National Portrait Gallery, students were able to explore The Taylor Wessing Photographic Prize exhibition. This was a great opportunity to view a wide range of varying photographic portraits. The show included a portrait from a photographer of particular interest to the students, that by James Russell Cant. James had been kind enough to come in to college last year and discuss and explain his work with the students.”
The day ended in Chinatown giving both Year 1 and Year 2 students the opportunity to take both digital and traditional photographs within a vibriant and exciting urban environment.
