Art & Design Level 3 students study Impressionist artworks

Posted on

IMG_8113Art & Design Level 3 Diploma students visited the Fitzwilliam Museum for a talk by the museum’s education officer. They looked at a painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds, the influential eighteenth century artist, then moved to the Impressionists’  gallery to make comparisons by subject matter, colour and brushstroke. Student Eliot Robinson says:

“Ian (the education officer) organised us into small groups to look at different paintings in different rooms then talked to us about each artist and style. It was interesting learning the history of each style / movement, and Ian taught us in a fun and enthusiastic way. The visit has really helped me with my Diploma studies.”
