The Level 2 Art and Design Diploma students visited the Botanic Gardens and the Sedgwick Museum for their first day of sketching and photography. Edward, one of the students, reports:
“We first went to the Botanical Gardens, and I especially liked the hothouse, which was filled with many types of desert and tropical plants from around the world. I took a lot of photographs of these exotic plants and also made many observational drawings. Afterwards, we set off to go to the Sedgwick Museum, which was very exciting and interesting. I drew from observation some of the huge collection of fossils and dinosaur bones and got good results from the photos I took, including the Barrington hippopotamus and the many other fossils in the museum. This was a fun and exciting trip and I very much enjoyed it.
