Annual SAFE awards poster winners

Posted on

Criminology students Caira Wright and Hazera Begum joined Chief Inspector Steve Kerridge, Principal Yolanda Botham, and other staff in judging this year’s entries for the Annual SAFE Award at Long Road.  This award reflects areas of focus that Cambridgeshire Police are trying to tackle, and involves our Criminology students attending a short series of presentations by key Police Officers.  Students then write up their notes and submit these in a competition to see who can best capture the content, to be passed on to their peers at college.

Caira and Hazera won the competition this year, which was on the topic of Domestic Abuse.  They went on to present this to Graphics students in an excellent session, and the Graphics students then produced a series of posters for the public.  In recognition of the quality of Caira and Hazera’s presentation, it has now been selected for use in the training of the local Police! Meanwhile, a judging panel was so impressed by the submitted posters, they found it difficult to select a winner!  All of the entries were taken back to Police headquarters by the Chief Inspector so that he can share them with a broader range of the Police, searching for their feedback before trying to select an overall winner.  A huge well done to all the students involved.
