Alumni visit Applied Sport students

Last Wednesday 17 former Long Road Sports students came back to Long Road to talk to all of the current Year 1 Applied Sport students. All the visiting Alumni had graduated from Long Road within the last 4 -5 years and have gone on to studying exciting university degrees, apprenticeships and even set up their own businesses! The Alumni sat in groups of 4 or 5 and spoke to over 20 students at a time for 5 minutes in a carousel based format. They offered advice on how to be successful on the course; informed them what they’d gone on to do after leaving college; the best routes into different careers and answered any questions the current students had. All of our Alumni spoke very openly about themselves which the current students responded to very well and it was evident that they were inspired by what they had heard.

- Ben Eames – Currently setting up own coffee business and working as a Barista Manager
- Mollie Messenger – Studying Level 5 Sports Massage Diploma
- Julyah Clarke – PT at Cambridge Pure Gym
- Finn Conroy – Finished with a 2:1 Sports Science degree at Sheffield University, working as a PT and Swim Coach at Nuffield Health
- Ryan Day – Fire Fighter at Cambridge Fire Station
- Chloe Wallis – Accountant
- Rob Winfield – Jaguar Land Rover Accredited Sales Executive
- Elliott Irvine – Personal Trainer (CV and Lifestyle Consultant) Manager at Parkside Leisure Centre
- Sasha Vail – Sports Studies with Psychology and Philosophy at Stirling University
- Josh Lewis – Business Sport Management University of Lincoln
- Zac Hart – Working at Warner Bros as a runner
- Georgia Kirby-Cook – Sports Coaching Science at Canterbury Christ Church University
- Katie Moore – Fashion Marketing and Branding at Nottingham Trent
- Georgia Reardon – Business Management and Marketing at Nottingham Trent
- Emma Negua – GAP year working in the fashion and marketing industry and coaching gymnastics in primary schools around Bury St Edmunds
- George Ball – Owns his own coaching company that currently works with 20 primary schools in the Cambridgeshire Area
