After Long Road: Progression after Lockdown

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically effected university studies and employment opportunities. Students across the UK are worried about what progression route will be the most secure and the best option for them.

While no one has all the answers about how COVID-19 has impacted employment options, we can provide you with resources that can help boost your  CV and UCAS personal statement in preparation for your progression after Long Road.

Careers and Progression E-Mag

Did you know our Careers & Progression Department publish a fortnightly e-magazine?

Each magazine is full of content relevant to students at Long Road, including topical articles and progression advice for a variety of pathways including University, Apprenticeships and Gap Years.

Young Professional Training

Youth Employment UK provides free training courses for young people aged 14-24 to help boost life skills. Their Journey to Work programme is a series of 8 free courses that will help you boost your skills and career confidence. These courses can be completed at your own pace and you will receive a certificate for your CV or personal statement for every course completed!

 

Progress Coaches

If you’re feeling unsure about your progression path after Long Road, whether you’re a Year 1 or Year 2 student, you can reach out to your Progress Coach! They are specially trained to offer you careers advice on a wide range of different pathways. They will be able to discuss the possible progression options you might be interested in and be able to guide you in creating a progression plan.
