Long Road Peer Mentors are known for their friendly and helpful attitude, their willingness to represent the College at a range of events – and for their pink t-shirts. A new group is recruited and trained each June, ready to help our Year 1 students find their feet in September. One of the major events is the annual Open Evening, during which peer mentors help potential students and their parents find their way around the College.
To thank the peer mentors for their support to date, the College held an award ceremony, hosted by Heather Chambers, Assistant Principal.
“We are really proud of the way that our peer mentors conducted themselves over the two days,” Heather comments. “We have received lots of praise for them, through post-open evening emails, the open evening questionnaire and verbally. This is an excellent opportunity for students both to take part in the life of the college and to develop inter-personal skills which will serve them well in ther future.”
