Music A level students listen to Welsh harpist Catrin Finch

Posted on

AS Music students went to a concert at the Cambridge Corn Exchange by the European Union Chamber Orchestra, featuring the harpist Catrin Finch.  The concert was preceded by an interview with Catrin at Heffers bookshop, where she spoke about her career as a harpist and gave our students an insight into the workings of this complex instrument.  The concert featured pieces by Bach, Mozart, Debussy and Haydn, which helped our students to gain a wider understanding of their study pieces.  One of the students, Jasmine Hunt, said of the concert: “It was brilliant!  The harmonies, and the orchestra (especially the French horns) really brought the music to life.”
