The Foundation Diploma in Art and Design is a 1 year full-time course, running from September – May, designed to enable you to explore your creativity through experiential, experimental and integrated learning.
As a Foundation student, you will have a year of intensive creative exploration ahead, resulting in you choosing an art or design specialism that is right for you. The Diploma is taught in its own dedicated studio on the Long Road campus, with individual workspaces for you to fully explore your creative potential.
At least 5 GCSE subjects (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above, including Art and English.
A level Art and Design, Design Technology or Photography at minimum grade D or Level 3 Diploma in Art, Photography or Graphics (60, 120 or 180 credit) with an MMP or above.
The course is divided into three stages: Exploratory, Pathway and Confirmatory, working towards a Final Major Project.
After completing this qualification you can progress to university, an apprenticeship or employment.
