Musical Theatre Level 3 Diploma
Level 3 Applied Diploma
The Musical Theatre course is a highly practical course, providing students with the necessary skills and opportunities they need to develop into a ‘triple threat’ performer. We have excellent purpose-built facilities, including a mirrored and sprung floor studio and a fully functional black box theatre. Our teachers are specialists and trained to coach singing, dancing and acting skills to a high level.
The course supports a range of transferable skills to further any career in performing arts. Students are encouraged to take part in trips, workshops and performing arts enrichment to support their skill development. This includes choir, dance technique and LAMDA. Students will also have the opportunity to work on a collaborative project with other Performing Arts students in the college production.
This course is worth the equivalent to one A level.
Please note; may be required to pay course costs towards your study on this course. Click here for a full list of Course Costs
The course consists of a combination of rehearsals, performances, reports and presentations, allowing the Musical Theatre performer to be fully understood. Key Musical Theatre practitioners will be explored and a range of repertoire learnt. This leads onto the devising of a Musical Theatre piece in the second year where all of these skills can be put into practice.
This professional approach allows students the preparation they need to pursue a Musical Theatre course at a top conservatoire, or a University-based course. The course also supports a range of transferable skills to further any career in Performing Arts.
You will be assessed by a combination of internally-assessed assignments and externally- set and marked assessments.
