Level 3 Applied Courses
This is an ideal qualification if you want to learn a broad range of art and design skills. The course covers a wide range of areas, providing new, stimulating practical challenges, whilst placing your learning within a professional context.
This is an Extended Diploma (180 credits) equivalent to three A levels.

The Extended Diploma is an exciting exploratory two-year equivalent to three A Levels. Providing a fast-paced introduction to a range of materials, techniques and processes within the art and design field.
Specialisms include digital, painting, printmaking, photography, textiles, graphics, illustration and three-dimensional work. Contextual and critical studies cover a range of art and design practices and support your own learning.
The course will give you a broad introduction to the creative industries working in a range of specialisms.

- 70% coursework
Throughout the course it is also expected that you will attend lectures given by external practitioners. You will also be able to take part in art and design- related trips, here and abroad.
These include trips to; Paris, London museums and galleries, Knitting and Stitching Show, New Designers, visit by the Raptor Foundation, visits to university art degree shows. The course also includes a series of life drawing sessions.
- At least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 in a range of subjects including GCSE English.
- Grade 4 in GCSE Art.
- Students with a distinction grade in a Level 2 Certificate in a related area may be considered with a Grade 3 in GCSE English.
