Sunny afternoons on the River Cam with Learn to Row programme
We’re excited to share that, in partnership with East Anglian Youth Rowing and the City of Cambridge Rowing Club, Long Road has been running a ‘Learn to Row’ program this summer term on the River Cam.
Alongside some fantastic coaches, our students have been learning the fundamentals of rowing as part of a mission to form Long Road’s first inclusive rowing crews, with the aim of competing in both the East Anglian Youth Rowing Regatta and the annual Town Bumps event.
At Long Road, we believe that sport is for everyone, regardless of experience or ambition. Rowing offers a fantastic opportunity for students from all backgrounds, including those who might not have engaged in sport otherwise, to try something new, develop new skills, and feel part of a team.
Whilst we were busy setting up for Open Evenings on the 2nd July, our Learn to Row students were having fun at the EAYR Rowing Regatta! Thanks everyone for a fantastic afternoon 🚣
